In 2006, several actions were implemented by the Human Resources and Administration unit aimed at developing staff and further strengthening the positive work environment.

SulAmérica conducted once again a Work Environment Survey, carried out by the Hay Group, to measure the degree of satisfaction of employees with the company. The 2006 study showed a 5-percentage point increase in satisfaction compared to the previous survey taken in 2004. This demonstrated that the investment made in recent years in improvements is creating positive results in the organization.

Among the actions taken by the unit in 2006, the Manager of the Year Program stands out and gives recognition to those managers who motivate and raise the value of their teams.

Also in 2006, SulAmérica, which has 5,600 employees, provided 6,340 hours of language courses and 6,774 hours of MBA courses, and an additional 300,000 hours of technical courses and training in behavior and products. The employees’ webpage, Portal do Funcionário, an important channel for internal communication, posted 6 million hits.

Also in 2006, the Office of Legal Affairs was created with the purpose of modernizing and streamlining procedures in this area.

With the implementation of technological upgrades, such as the system for requesting office supplies and services, administrative procedures became more dynamic and modern.
